Account Overview

This account is an environmentally friendly future energy company involved in LPG import/distribution, renewable energy, and hydrogen business.


Challenge

The client faced challenges in accurately determining the operational status of a pump motor located deep underground. The only available method to assess the motor's condition was by measuring insulation resistance using portable equipment, which did not provide insights into mechanical failures.


Furthermore, the client relied on motor replacement rather than repair for maintenance purposes, resulting in a stock of spare motors for such replacements.


Project

To address the need for advanced knowledge and proactive measures regarding the motor's condition, a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) for guardione® motor was conducted.



1. Motor diagnosis consulting took place, involving discussions on the analysis principles of guardione® motor, system configuration diagrams, and proposals for hardware installation. 


2. Following the installation of the hardware, approximately two weeks were dedicated to data learning and modeling.


3. Motor trend observation and frequency analysis were carried out using the learned algorithm, and the diagnosis results were shared based on the findings.


Result

Guardione® Motor PoC yielded the following outcomes:



1. Two motors of the client experienced failures. One motor exhibited a complex defect involving the stator and shaft, while the other motor had a stator defect.


2. The malfunctioning motor was disassembled and analyzed, confirming the occurrence of the defect.


Building upon the trust established during the PoC, the solution was officially implemented and is currently being expanded for use in other sites.
