Account Overview

This account is an environmentally conscious future energy company involved in LPG import/distribution, renewable energy, and hydrogen business.


Challenge

The client's main motors are submersible pump motors buried deep underground. As a result, conventional defect detection techniques like vibration analysis and thermal imaging were challenging to apply for effective management. 


Therefore, due to the reliance on insulation resistance measurement as the primary method, there was a need for a more comprehensive solution to accurately assess the motor's condition.


Project

Recognizing the need to proactively understand the motor's condition and take preventive action, the client introduced guardione® motor through the following process:



1. Motor diagnosis consulting took place, involving discussions on the analysis principles of guardione® motor, system configuration diagrams, and proposals for hardware installation. 


2. After the installation of the hardware, approximately two weeks were dedicated to data learning and modeling.


3. Motor trend observation and frequency analysis were conducted using the learned algorithm, and the diagnosis results were shared among the relevant stakeholders.




Result

1. By installing guardione® motor, a simple facility management infrastructure was established that does not impact the installation environment or operation.


2. Leveraging the algorithms of the solution, complex defects in the motor's stator and shaft were detected approximately 40 days in advance. The diagnosis performance, including the identification of fault status and cause, was verified by disassembling and inspecting the motor.


3. Based on the trust gained through this process, the client decided to expand the implementation of guardione® motor, extending its use to other sites.
