This account is an eco-friendly future energy company, and is engaged in LPG import/distribution, renewable energy and hydrogen business.


Challenge

1. Due to the frequent starts and stops of the client's equipment, there is an increased likelihood of electrical and mechanical defects.


2. Furthermore, the internal parts of the motor (such as the stator and rotor) posed challenges for disassembly and inspection.


3. Moreover, the existing methods of measuring insulation resistance or vibration did not provide a means to accurately assess the condition of electrical or mechanical defects.


Project

Recognizing the necessity of a solution that could provide proactive insights into the motor's condition and facilitate preemptive action, the client introduced guardione® motor through the collaboration with onepredict.



1. Motor diagnosis consulting was conducted, covering the analysis principles of guardione® motor, system configuration diagrams, and proposals for hardware installation.


2. Following the installation of the hardware, approximately two weeks were dedicated to data learning and modeling.


3. Motor trend observation and frequency analysis were conducted using the acquired algorithm, and the resulting diagnosis outcomes were shared with relevant stakeholders.




Result

1. The solution successfully detected motor defects and confirmed that the damage to the rotor bar had significantly advanced.


2. Furthermore, by analyzing the root mean square (RMS) of the current, a measurement factor provided by guardione® motor, it was verified that the motor efficiency had decreased by approximately 20%.


3. After consulting with the client and validating the reduction in motor efficiency, a maintenance plan was established while closely monitoring the deterioration trend.
