Plant

Detect anomalies early to prevent on-site accidents.

[Maintenance Engineer]
"Thanks to the alert from the guardione® solution before the motor stopped, we were able to prevent a major fire."

01 Client

The client is a leading domestic power generation company, engaged in district energy services that supply heat and electricity through cogeneration within industrial complexes, as well as overseas solar power generation projects.

02 Background

To manage the motors in its cogeneration plant more efficiently, the client adopted and has been using the guardione® solution.

03 Issue

1. The guardione® solution detected abnormal behavior in the motor’s stator and rotor characteristics as early as August, four months before the failure. It also flagged that a stator short poses a high fire risk and requires special attention.

2. In addition, it sent an email alert about the anomaly on October 28, 39 days prior to the failure.

04 Result

As a result of the client’s preventive measures and equipment disassembly inspection, the findings matched those detected by the guardione® solution—stator winding turn-to-turn short and rotor bar crack.By detecting the anomalies in advance, the client was able to prevent a potential fire caused by failure, ensuring on-site safety and avoiding significant losses.
