01 Client

The client is a public institution under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea, and an affiliate of the nation’s largest power supply group. It is responsible for the safe and stable supply of eco-friendly energy and has achieved notable success both domestically and internationally. 





02 Background

The client was experiencing high vibration issues in their steam turbine, but struggled to identify the exact cause through other diagnostic methods or solutions. 





03 Issue

guardione® turbo analyzed vibration and operational factor data to accurately diagnose the steam whirl phenomenon within the steam turbine and determine its fixed location. 

1. Performed domain-based analysis of vibration and operational factor data to identify the root cause of the vibration increase. 

2. Learned from the characteristics of the steam turbine vibration (FFT, Orbit, Polar, etc.) and operational data trends (HP stage steam temperature/pressure, N packing section temperature). 

3. Provided a clearly explainable diagnosis result to the client through data change detection. 

4. Recommended maintenance actions to resolve the steam whirl phenomenon that caused the vibration issue. 

04 Result
